Will Dean Co-Founder & CEO
Will Dean is a Co-Founder of Immersive Games Lab and the Founder of Tough Mudder Inc. Dean came up with the idea for a series of a military obstacle course challenges while completing his MBA at the Harvard Business School. Since launching in 2010, Tough Mudder has attracted more than three million participants worldwide and generates annual global revenues in excess of $100m. In 2017, Dean was made MBE by Queen Elizabeth II for his charitable contributions to sport. He chairs the advisory group for the Centre for Entrepreneurship at Bristol University (his undergraduate alma mater). He lives in London with his wife and two children.
David Spindler Co-Founder
David Spindler is a Co-Founder at Immersive Games Lab. Previously, David founded Tough Mudder Bootcamp- the studio fitness concept of Tough Mudder Inc. David joined Tough Mudder in 2012, leading Strategy and Marketing teams. He built growth projects and new business initiatives from after-parties to Global Mudder marketing events. Prior to Tough Mudder, David was a Consultant at Bain and Company in London, Zurich and Johannesburg. David graduated from the London School of Economics with a degree in Philosophy and Economics.
Richard Kershaw CTO
Richard Kershaw is the CTO at Immersive Games Lab. With over 15 years in the tech industry, Richard is a multi-disciplined technologist with a passion for real-world technology product development. Founder of Corethree, Europe’s leading mobile transport retail platform, his focus has been on product development, bringing together his software and user experience expertise to make big things happen. From this success, Richard expanded into the tech consultancy industry, working on projects with IBM and the Department for Transport.
Jeremy Hogan Lead Games Designer
Jeremy Hogan is the Lead Game Designer at Immersive Games Lab. A veteran of the UK video games industry, he joined from Sony PlayStation’s London studio where he designed both VR and traditional console games. Prior to Sony, Jeremy’s career spanned the full breadth of the industry from mobile games to MMOs and running his own indie microstudio. He is passionate about game design in all its forms and is a published board game designer, he also runs game design workshops at the British Museum.
Ejaz Saqib Games Developer
Ejaz Saqib is a Game Developer at Immersive Games Lab. Coming from a rich gaming background, Ejaz has spent 7 years in the industry building games across popular and emerging platforms. With a real passion for the sector, he has since began exploring new ways to bring interactive experiences to the general public. Ejaz is a programmer with a desire to challenge and push the boundaries of what a ‘gaming experience’ means.
Karina Carter Marketing Manager
Karina Carter is the Marketing Director at Immersive Games Lab. Previously, Karina founded Cavemen Coding and was in charge of setting the Branding and Digital Marketing Strategy for clients in the gaming, manufacturing and healthcare industries spanning China, Australia, United States, the Netherlands and the UK, as well as leading the Design and Dev teams on all projects. For 3 years prior, Karina was based in Beijing running a consultancy that helped UK companies expand into China. Always working between technology and marketing, Karina is passionate about using new technologies to bring people together.
Katie Corkill Retail Operations Manager
Katie Corkill is currently the Retail Operations Manager at Immersive Games Lab. She has developed and delivered a variety of events and programmes through sport and physical activity. From Cancer Research UK’s Race 4 Life, to Manchester United Soccer Schools, she has provided memorable experiences for members of the public and young people. Katie has a degree in Business Studies and a masters in Sport Development.
Nana Dembele PA to the CEO + Operations Intern
Nana Dembele is the PA to the CEO and Operations Intern. She is undergoing her Placement year studying Events Management with Finance and Accounting at the University of Bournemouth . Nana has successfully organized events for the ‘United Through Sports’ charity and regular excursions for the African + Caribbean Society. She is expected to graduate in 2020 and hopes to return to Immersive Games Lab to further her career.
